Class of 78 Reunion Letter

2012 Reunion Information

As promised, the regular rates for Embassy Suites is $139 and up per night.

Our special discounted rate will be $104 per night (2 night min).

You must make reservations no later than Sept. 7th to receive the special rate. After that date, the price goes

back up.

These are suites and you'll have a full breakfast buffet included in the morning with your stay.

We are also asking that you pay your $50 fees (per person) before Aug. 31st in order to avoid any extra costs

or inconveniences (caterers, t shirts, etc).

We'll need to have a count of all participants soon after that date.

If you do happen to pay later than Aug 31st, the fee will go up to $75/person.

Tentative plans for that weekend include a parade/bonfire on Thurs (hopefully David Landa will get us an 18 wheeler for it...).

On Friday we're planning a mixer/mingler after the peprally and then the game of course.

After the game, we're getting together probably at Joe Barrera's house for food, drinks, and music.......party time!

Then on Sat we'll have the dinner and dance at Embassy. More info to follow as plans are conirmed.

Since we just got the HC date for next fall, I made some phone calls and visited some venues for our Sat. night event.

A couple of us had an emergency meeting today and we HAD to make a decision on the place.

So, we will be having the Sat night dinner/dance at Embassy Suites Hotel on S. 2nd St. in McAllen.

It will be a beautifully catered event including some already prepaid alcoholic beverages for you if you like to indulge.

For those of you that are coming in from out of town, we should be getting special pricing for the rooms there in case you'd like

to stay there. I'll post the special rates as soon as we have them.

If you've never been there, let me tell you that it is very nice.

Don't forget, we are meeting next Thurs at Chili's on Exp 83 in McAllen at around 6:30 for more planning.

7 more months and counting.....and the ball is rolling!!!

Ok classmates! We have a set date for homecoming 2012. We'll be kicking off our 35th class reunion on Thursday,

Sept. 20th with a homecoming parade and bonfire.

The game is on Friday, 21st, and then the dinner/dance

Sat. Sept. 22nd. Details about these days are to follow as the committee plans and finalizes them.

I'm simply posting the dates so that those of you from out of town can make your plans with plenty of time.

Like I told Cuki Castillo on another page, we are like fine wine, we get better with age so no excuses please.

Ok guys, here's an update: District lines for sports have been drawn. We're just waiting

for the football schedule so that we know when homecoming will be. Cuki Castillo and /or

Joe Barrera will let us know ASAP. Then we'll be visiting several suggested venues for our

Saturday night event. If you want to start sending in your money you may. The cost is the

same as it has been for the last 2 reunions, $50.00/person. If your're interested in

sending it in early, let me know. We hope everyone reading this will be able to make it!!
